Yummy Flapjacks

Flapjacks are so easy to whip up! I wanted to make something but was not in the mood to use hours in the kitchen. They are made with only 4 ingredients! I don’t even know how its possible, and they taste so delicious.

TIME: 30 min     SERVINGS: 9-15 (depends on preferred size)     DIFFICULTY: EASY


  • 125 g butter 
  • 9-10 tablespoons golden syrup 
  • 100 g soft brown sugar
  • 250 g big porridge oats

You will need a 20 cm square baking tin  


Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line the baking tin with grease-proof paper or line the tin with butter. 

In a medium pan over low heat, melt the butter, then add the syrup and sugar. Keep the pan on the heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved and everything is well combined. 

Remove the mixture from the heat and add the oats. Mix until all the oats are coated in the mixture. 

Pour into the pan/tin, spread and squash it down so that it’s the same thickness every where.  Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the top it golden and crispy. 



For presentation you obviously have a few options. You can just cut them up in squares and put them on a decorative plate. 

Or you can do what I did, I took some baking paper or parchment paper an rapped a strip of it around the flapjack and then took some rustic looking string and tied it around with a bow.  (like on the picture)
